We are looking for dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic individuals, who are also keen team players.You should enjoy the challenge of working in a busy environment. You should be forward thinking, as well as eager to develop your own clinical skills. As a Band 4 Healthcare Assistant in Theatres you will be involved in scrubbing and circulating for day case surgical procedures working alongside surgeons and registered theatre practitioners. Specialities undertaken at Lymington Surgical Unit include Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Colorectal and Orthopaedics.As part of the Band 4 Healthcare Assistant role you will also be involved in supporting Recovery (PACU) and the Outpatient Department where we undertake clinics and minor procedures. Experience in a scrub role is essential, whilst experience in any of the above specialities would be an advantage, relevant training will be provided within the unit.Within this wide ranging role you will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment. You should have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), a flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative. Attention to detail and good communication are also essential as you will be dealing with patients, relatives and staff from across the Trust within a number of disciplines. A full time post is 37.5 hours per week, part time hours can be discussed at interview. The full range of shifts can be discussed during an informal visit or during interview. We currently offer a Monday to Friday service with potential in the future to add a weekend service.
