Summary


The Isle of Wight CAMHS team is looking for aFamily Therapist.

The team are excited to welcome more family therapy colleagues and value the diversity of skills family therapy can contribute in relation to therapeutic interventions, consultation, supervision, reflective practice, teaching and training, service development and research/audit knowledge.

Continued Professional Development is actively supported by the senior leads for the service and by the Wider Trust. We recognise how development of our professionals grows compassionate and evidence-based care for our young people and their families

The successful candidate will be passionate about ensuring the child’s voice is central to the work they do and work in partnership with families and other agencies to achieve the outcomes desired by the child or young person.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician, with experience of working in children’s services, to join our CAMHS team on the Isle of Wight. The IOW NHS Trust community CAMHS team is CQC rated Good, the team is a multidisciplinary team of 40 staff who provide services to children and young people on the Island that are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.

We are looking for an experienced clinician in children's services to take up the role in community team to ensure the service continues to deliver good quality, compassionate care.

To provide a Systemic Family Therapy service to the Isle of Wight within Community CAMHS in a framework of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working. To be provided both autonomously and in an integrated model. Based on highly specialised and broad ranging knowledge and skills providing high quality evidence based practice using the full range of relevant theoretical models.

To provide consultation to our partner agencies and work alongside colleagues in the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive CAMHS to the community.

Across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight healthcare services are evolving and transforming to meet the continuing care needs of our population. Now is a very exciting time to join Isle of Wight NHS Trust as we enter this period of change.

This year Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have strengthened our partnership and formed a group giving us an opportunity to work together to be innovative in improving patient care and outcomes as well as improving the experience and opportunities for our people across the two organisations.

We have also been working with other local NHS Trusts across our region to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust - Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - to be formed by April 2024.

People employed in our community, mental health and learning disability services by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust on 31 March 2024, will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) on 1 May 2024.

The Isle of Wight is a unique and stunning gem located off the South Coast of England, a short ferry journey from Portsmouth and Southampton, with journey times taking from as little as 10 minutes. The island offers an amazing coastline with beautiful countryside, year-round events, festivals and award-winning attractions.

To provide teaching in a variety of formats: workshops, seminars, presentations, groups, for other child practitioners including GP’s, paediatric staff, adult mental health, psychologists, nurses and primary mental health workers, according to the trusts training initiatives.

To take an active part in the development of a systemic service using models of brief family therapy and systemic intervention appropriate for supporting families in the community who are experiencing issues related to their emotional health and wellbeing.eg. Family breakdown, trauma, anxiety, eating disorders or a combination of mental health difficulties and complex family dynamics.

Develop professional liaisons with adult services to address needs of children and families with complex mental health problems exacerbated by parental mental health issues in line with the Joint Working Protocol(4LSCB). Also to provide appropriate transition as adolescents move to the Adult Mental Health services

Initiate, manage, sustain, and evaluate the systemic approach within the new areas of development above to increase effective intervention for families as well as the CPD of the multidisciplinary team.
