Summary


As part of the EEAST Fleet and Workshops transformation plan, we are recruiting another workshops supervisor for the Norfolk region (Based at either Norwich or Waveney).

The post holder will be responsible for the efficient and cost effective running of 2 of the Trusts busiest Workshops, keeping lost unit hours due to vehicle failure, to a minimum.

• Supervision of Workshop Technicians working on site to ensure the best use of resources, adherence to safe working practices and delivery of high quality workmanship.


To monitor and develop new working practices as may be required to improve efficiency and effectiveness of working resources

The Fleet Department is responsible for the design, testing and evaluation of operational vehicles, their procurement and issue to A&E Operations, the in-life compliance, service planning and up-time management (operational life) of the vehicle, and the final decommissioning and disposal at the end of their life. It is also responsible for all ordering of lease vehicles to support functions, including business lease cars.
1. Supervision / Leadership• Ensure that regular monitoring and checks are carried out to maintain a high quality of repairs and servicing and report any concerns to the workshops Manager.
• To substitute/support Workshop Supervisors in other areas/localities
• To provide first line supervision / leadership of the Workshop teams.
• Ensure regular communication to Technicians concerning quality issues and individual performance and participate in the Trust’s IPR programme, as appraiser/appraisee.
• Provide leadership to promote Trust initiatives and stimulate the necessary sense of urgency and flexibility to keep vehicle lost unit hours to a minimum.
• Identify training and support required for Vehicle Technicians ensuring ongoing continuous professional development is planned and delivered in keeping with operational and legislative requirements.
• Provide a focal point for Workshops staff in all matters relating to department performance, Health & Safety, discipline and grievances etc
