Summary

Are you a caring and compassionate SEN practitioner seeking a new role and wanting to make a real difference? We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an OFSTED rated 'good' school in Malvern. The school's most recent report states that 'The small proportion of pupils who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities achieve well'.

The SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting two pupils in KS2. Responsibilities will include ensuring that pupils are engaged in whole class sessions, and adapting and modifying learning activities (under direction and supervision of the class teacher)

As part of your role, you will be asked to assess and report on development, progress and attainment. You will support both pupils with their social and emotional wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the class teacher as appropriate.

The successful applicant would need to have a secure understanding of the Primary curriculum, strong behaviour management skills, and previous experience of working with pupils with SEN. The school are looking for a dedicated teaching assistant who is willing to commit to a long-term position to ensure consistency for the children. The role is to start as soon as possible, and to continue until the end of the academic year.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
⦁ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
⦁ Experience of working with children with SEN
⦁ Committed to long-term role
⦁ Strong behaviour management skills
⦁ DBS on the update service or issued within the last 12 months
