An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Mathematics to join a large team that strongly believe all students should be given the opportunity to master mathematics.
This means as part of this team you will be striving for all students to acquire a deep, long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of the subject. Within the faculty they see the benefit of continued professional development to help promote good outcomes for students. Running development sessions three to four times a term focussing on various aspects of teaching mathematics through a teaching for mastery approach.
My client is looking for someone who has the ability to put their vision for teaching and learning into practice. Someone who can deliver high quality lessons that ignite a passion for mathematics into their students.
The mathematics department has seen lots of success in both pupil outcomes and Progress 8 in the past few years and would like to continue these positive trends. Time has been dedicated to upskilling the team in pedagogy and curriculum knowledge. This has resulted in an innovative and creative department who use evidence-based practice to develop their teaching and curriculum design.
They are a team that seeks to find new and interesting ways to allow pupils to learn and make progress. This is based on a supportive team ethos. As a department, they have successfully overseen massive changes to curriculum and assessment and are looking to continue to improve to ensure that pupils get the best possible grades and experience in Mathematics.
