Summary


An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a therapy assistant role within the Oxford Muscle Service. The Oxford Muscle Service is a regional tertiary care centre, supporting five surrounding counties, alongside the MDUK Oxford Neuromuscular Centre for research.

The Oxford Muscle Service is a multiprofessional team of consultants, care advisors, AHPs and admin. It covers an adults and paediatric cohort, delivering highly specialist clinic care and research.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a therapy assistant. This post holder will work across all aspects of the clinical team, liaising with colleagues in both adults and paediatrics and supporting clinical and admin service delivery. This post offers a great opportunity to develop skills in this dynamic and progressive field of health care.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

1. To work as a member of the Oxford Muscle Service (OMS) multidisciplinary team.
2. To assist the OMS in a range of clinical and non-clinical duties.
3. To provide holistic input for patients without direct supervision, working to management plans, protocols and accountable at all times to a registered practitioner.
4. To provide admin support to the OMS.
5. To input data onto several IT systems, including the use of national databases (i.e. North Star and SMA-REACH).
6. To support the ordering, maintenance and cleaning of equipment used by the OMS.
7. Support the collaborative delivery of Specialist Neuromuscular Services for patients with neuromuscular disease, who access the Oxford neuromuscular service.
8. Assist with patient transition from paediatric to adult care. Supporting the integration of adult and paediatric neuromuscular services.
