Pay rate (Assignment rate): £27.69 per hour

Contract Length: 3-Months

Shift Pattern: 09:00 am - 17:00 pm, 37.5 hours per week.

Duties:

• Work within our School Nursing team which is part of the 0-19 Universal Children's Services
• Supporting the current Schools Nurses by attending safeguarding meetings for school aged children
• Complete health needs assessments as well as support children and young people with their physical and mental health needs by undertaking visits into school or the home
• Undertaking work as directed by the Team Lead and Practice educator
• Some supervision of SCPHN and Pre- Registration Students may be required

Requirements for the SCPHN School Nurse role:

• Degree or equivalent in Nursing (RGN qualified) with active NMC Registration (Adult)
• Recent nursing experience in the UK
• Strategy meetings, child protection conferences, core groups and child in need meetings, so a knowledge of safeguarding children is essential
• Good communication skills are essential as they will be required to liaise with other agencies and support parents/carers of our vulnerable young people
• We would be happy to accept Health Visitors with a knowledge of school nursing or registered nurses with pervious school nursing experience (Band 5)
• A current driving licence and use of car are essential
• A current DBS is also required
