Job Description:
Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a skilled professional to join our client's multidisciplinary surgical team, providing evidence-based surgical assistance under direct supervision. As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with extensive clinical experience and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Surgical First Assistance or equivalent, you will play a vital role in their surgical services.
Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical assistance under direct supervision, contributing to clinical effectiveness, innovation, and service improvement.
• Mentorship of students and participation in clinical effectiveness and service improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with surgeons, demonstrating excellent team-working, communication, and leadership skills.
• Adhere to professional standards and guidelines, maintaining a commitment to personal and professional development.
Qualifications:
• Registered on the NMC register or HCPC ODP NVQ Level 3 / Diploma.
• Successful completion of UK accredited Surgical First Assistant Part 1 course.
Requirements:
• Extensive experience as a Band 5 Perioperative Practitioner across multiple surgical specialisms.
• Proficiency in pre-op planning, patient positioning, tissue management, and wound closure.
• Ability to work flexibly and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge and experience in mentorship and practice learning.
