Summary
Midday Assistant required to support children with SEND and learning difficulties in a special school.
The role involves: support for pupils during the lunchtime period and to
undertake personal care for the children.
To supervise a small group of children in the playground and initiate playground games.
To be aware of all Health & Safety issues
To treat all information relating to a child as strictly confidential and to refer all enquiries, other than from professionals, to the Headteacher
To assist with the general supervision of children during lunch breaks when required
To be a proactive member of the school and class team
To undertake any relevant training such as safeguarding and food hygiene
Post holder will be subject to enhanced DBS check and;
be fully aware of and understand the duties and responsibilities arising from the Children’s Act 2004 and Working Together in relation to child protection and safeguarding children and young people
to ensure that the Headteacher is made aware and kept fully informed of any concerns which they may have in relation to safeguarding and / or child protection
