Summary
The Ministerial Visits Team sits as part of the overall Secretary of State Private Office structure and forms part of the wider Private Office Group.
The team works closely closely with all of the ministerial private offices, DCMS senior leaders, and policy officials. If you are successful in your application and interview, you will be joining a fast-paced and dynamic team, where you will need to engage regularly with the most senior parts of the department, and have a good strategic eye for possible visits and communications opportunities
Do you want to lead the Ministerial Visits team at the heart of an important and exciting agenda in a brilliant Government department? We are looking for a dynamic candidate with leadership and management experience to lead the a team of visits officers.
You will have exposure to an enormous amount of exciting policy development and communications opportunities. You will develop relationships across the department at all levels, including directly with the Secretary of State and junior Ministers. You will have the opportunity to see right across the Department as well as link with other Departments and key external stakeholders including a wide range of Arms Length Bodies. This is a key job for achieving outstanding public service delivery in the most efficient way: you will be key to ensuring the Secretary of State and her team are delivering on the Government’s priorities and effectively communicating the vision of the Ministerial team.
You can expect an exciting, fast-paced and varied job, as you provide strategic advice and insight into visits opportunities for the Secretary of State and Ministers. The job will require you to combine forward planning with an ability to deliver visits with a short turnaround time. Experience in managing events is a desirable quality, with skills that can be transferred to planning a detailed and relevant itinerary.
As the leader of the visits team for DCMS, your role will cover some of the most interesting and engaging sectors across the whole of Government from media to sport, museums to theatres, video games to TV and film. There is no better place to organise imaginative and innovative visits and events.
