Summary


The Weymouth and Portland CAMHS team are looking for a Family Practitioner to join!

As a Family Practitioner you will provide practical help, support and guidance to children, young people and their families who are receiving treatment in CAMHS. You will assist in the identification of those families who would benefit from receiving support and promote the importance and relevance of the parenting care pathway to families whose child/children display emotionally disrupted behaviours where parenting support would be the key intervention, resulting in promoting their recovery in their community environment.

You will assist care coordinators and senior clinicians to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans, using the evidence based Parenting Programme. Experience and training in supporting therapeutic approaches appropriate to the management of behavioural/mental health problems in young people is essential.

Experience of working closely with parents and carers in a therapeutic and/or supportive and/or liaison role

Support colleagues within the team in line with evidence based interventions and to undertake service audits as required.

Exercise a degree of autonomy and make judgments, manage own time and decisions in order to satisfy the expectations and demands of the job, on some occasions without supervision.

Regularly review and monitor outcome of assessment and effects of treatment in line with goal based outcomes and the care programme approach.
