Consultant Obstetrician

The post holder should have good background knowledge and skills in obstetrics and gynaecology to contribute to the provision of both Obstetric and Gynaecological services.
The role holder must have a certificate of completion of training (CCT) and must be registered on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview. The successful applicant must be able to scan independently and prepared to teach, train, and supervise colleagues, SAS doctors and trainees in developing their competencies in ultrasound.
The post holder should have good background knowledge and skills in obstetrics and gynaecology to contribute to the provision of both Obstetric and Gynaecological services.
The post will be across 3 sites, with outpatient and day case surgery provided on the Leigh site, inpatient and obstetric care on the Wigan site and the outpatient facility at the Thomas Linacre Centre, Wigan.
Join us and you will be a part of a team of 12 Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologists' with a wide range of special interests.
Antenatal clinics
Each of the general antenatal clinics is shared between 2 or 3 Consultants and the special interest antenatal clinics are shared between 2 consultants in order to provide continuity of care during periods of absence for on call duties or leave.
SPA Time
In addition to personal CPD, it is anticipated that the appointee will use SPA time to support the clinical governance frame work within the department as well as to develop skills complementary to the needs of the department with mentoring/support as necessary from an existing consultant.
