We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapistto join our SLT team leading on EHCP’s and initial assessments in Waltham Forest.

Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to children, young people and their families.

As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in the community, schools and within the clinic setting at Wood Street health Centre.

You will be working within our mainstream school’s team and the wider team where needed supporting EHCP’s and initial assessments. You will complete initial EHCP assessments, EHCP reviews where needed, provide support, offer second opinions and deliver training and EHCP updates to the SLT team. You will liaise with the designated clinical officer and monitor data on the teams delivery of EHCP’s.

You will have the opportunity to continue to develop this pathway ensuring the needs of the children are being met by our local schools.



NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15%.
