Summary

Days: Ideally Wednesdays and weekends

Introduction
We are looking for a personal assistant for our 13-year-old son to enable him to do more activities and exploring out in the community and away from home. He is a very sociable lad and enjoys playing with younger children due to his mental age (7-8 yrs old).
He can struggle in some social situations and gets frustrated when he’s not understood or when things don’t go his way. Being able to engage in various activities with a person from outside of the family will make a big difference to our son and to help him learn to manage his emotions and gain confidence.
Likes:
Playing games such as Minecraft, on the tablet but mostly playing on the xbox with his friend.
Swimming, he prefers to splash and play with the other children if there are any there. He needs someone to give instructions – such as go into the shower, wash and wash hair, get out and change.
He has a bike and can ride with a bit odd reluctance, but once he's been he's enjoyed, it’s mostly on the cycle path between the Black Covert in Trawscoed to Llanfarian towards the back of the Fire Station
He likes doodling and building cars etc from Lego.
Loves going to the park, it is important to build in a toilet stop on the way to the park.
Likes going to have a milkshake and crepe at "Y Cabin" in Pier Street, Aberystwyth, and eating in at MacDonalds also going to the cinema and having popcorn / sweets
Dislikes:
Going outdoor and away from his tablet and xbox.
He dislikes getting into the shower after swimming, but once in he dislikes washing and getting out of the shower.
Person Specification:
We are looking for someone that would be firm and ensure that he complies with requests, but also willing to have fun with him and get involved with the activities
The person ideally needs to drive as the family lives 16 miles out of Aberystwyth, 10 from Aberaeron, 12 from Lampeter, and 8 from Tregaron.
A Welsh speaker would be great but not important as our son understands Welsh but will always answer in English.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
