Summary
We are willing to support anyone who is interested in working in Residential Child Care. That is providing you have lived in the UK for at least the last 3 years. Prior to the application being processed, we invite you to join our 8 week Bootcamp, which will involve blended learning and work experience on the 8th week at our Residential Childrens Home. We will also get you a funded Enhanced DBS check.
Job Duties involved:-
Key aspects of children's residential support work:
• Ensuring each young person is cared for effectively, addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs.
• Exercising appropriate control over children and young people at all times, maintaining a safe environment.
• Supporting, assisting and providing guidance and boundaries for looked after children and young people, in a safe and stable residential environment, on an individual and group basis.
• Working collaboratively with other team members to actively safeguard, promote the welfare and advocate on behalf of children and young people.
• Driving young people to and from education, leisure opportunities, appointments, court proceedings etc.
• Working in partnership with parents, families, carers and other professionals to advocate for, safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
• Maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
• Covering various shifts including early mornings, late evenings and sleep-ins, on weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays, within the Homes and on residential trips.
• Promoting an organisational culture which values every team member’s contribution and is intolerant of discrimination in any form.
We will also consider applicants who are willing to take on some training.
