Summary

Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.

We have an exciting opportunity for a 3D Workshop Instructor to join us on fixed term basis, to provide maternity cover. 3D Instructors instruct students in the safe, appropriate and professional use of a range 3D techniques according to personal skillset and as required by course curriculum. You will work flexibly, providing assistance & supervision to support learning, teaching, assessment and research activities whilst observing and following Health and Safety practices, processes and guidelines as defined by the University and legislation at all times.

Applicants should be aware that this role involves some flexibility in working hours and could include evening sessions and occasional Saturdays when required.

The successful applicant should hold a degree in the arts that incorporates significant 3D making techniques and be able to demonstrable the ability to instruct and support a range of technical processes to a professional standard including:

• Mould making techniques and processes.
• Casting and mould making materials (RTV Silicones, Jesmonite, Plaster(s) and waxes)
• Ability to use; Epoxys, Polymers and Foams
• Wax working & building techniques.

Previous experience in assisting or instructing students is essential to this role as well as being able to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
