Summary
This Religious Charitable Organisation operating a Swaminarayan Temple at Harrow, London, is inviting applications for a post of full time Religious Worker [Swaminarayan Pandit/Pujari] for the temple at above mentioned address.
The right candidate having a relevant qualification will be advantageous. Knowledge of the Swaminarayan faith would also be an advantage. The right candidate having the relevant experience as working as a religious worker or priest or equivalent job and having the skill sets below will be an advantage. A letter of experience from the recognised religious trust/organisation or a recognised religious Guru can be produced.
Job Description
• Conduct religious festivals of Swaminarayan faith
• Give discourses on philosophy of Swaminarayan faith
• Coach children and adults in philosophy of Swaminarayan faith
• Work with other organisations, communities and Swaminarayan centres in the UK/Europe to conduct religious or other cultural sessions
• Provide counselling and Swaminarayan social support e.g. birth and marriage ceremonies, sociofamily issues, bereavement, last rites, etc.
• Hold workshops for spiritual and personal development of devotees
• Role involves extensive travel within United Kingdom and Europe
• Provide support to Mandir Priest in his duties as Minister of Religion / Priest
• To communicate, serve and provide knowledge to the local community and Congregation who come and visit the temple on a daily basis

Essential / Critical
1) Bhakti (Devotion)
2) Proactive, honest, reliable
3) Good communicator, listener and orator
4) Being able to converse in Gujarati
5) Ability to cook food as per the requirements of Swaminarayan philosophy and offer to deities with full devotion at least thrice a day and more during festive days
Advantageous / Desirable
1. Knowledge of Vachanamrut, Swamini Vato will be an advantage
2. Being able to communicate in Hindi and English will be an advantage
3. Knowledge of Sanskrit
