What will your job look like?
This job is all about people. Finding them, connecting with them, and showing them why Lakeland is the right place for them to be. You’ll be recruiting specifically for roles in our distribution centre – but this isn’t your typical warehouse. We have a friendly and inclusive team with people from all backgrounds, and we need your help to add to it.
You’ll need to work out what local jobseekers are ‘really’ after, and what we can offer them that will help us stand out against the competition. This is where your understanding of recruitment law and our employment policies will be key, as you’ll be balancing the needs of potential applicants against the needs of the business.
Once you figure that out, you’ll also need to shout about it too - using everything from job fairs, recruitment days, social media, college notice boards, local advertising, and anything else you can think of to find the best way to reach potential applicants.

You’ll meet people of all ages and backgrounds, so having that ability to instantly connect with them, make them feel at ease, and draw them into a potential career at Lakeland is so important.
You’ll also need to know your way around social media, finding innovative ways to reach people who themselves might be a little lost and looking for opportunities too – this is where you can really bring to life what Lakeland has to offer with creative content and engaging adverts.
Finally, you’ll need to be able to track your progress and use that to learn what’s working and what isn’t. Are job fairs just not generating applications? Perhaps it’s the local colleges that are full of keen candidates? Not everything you try will work, so casting the net far and wide and then being able to hone into the right channels at the right time is key.
