Summary

Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Band 6 – EMHP, CWP

We are seeking to recruit two experienced senior wellbeing practitioners to join the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS).

THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People’s Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion.

The three core functions of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are:
1. Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people (CYP) with mild-to-moderate mental health problems.
2. Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach.
3. Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help CYP to get the right support and stay in education.

The role involves delivering all three MHST functions. The role involves providing clinical supervision to trainees and or newly qualified EWPs and holding small caseload of clinical work while acting as a senior link supporting school leads to develop their whole school approach to wellbeing, project work, and other tasks as/when required.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

THEWS is part of the Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based in Whitechapel, East London.

In line with Trust policy, the service has adopted a hybrid clinical working model of direct face to face and remote working as appropriate.

The service embraces continual improvement and wellbeing of the staff and has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve.

Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification.

The successful candidates must be able to start in post by 1st September 2024 at the latest.

The successful candidates must have the ability to complete PG Cert Supervision: Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing or PG Dip: Senior Wellbeing Practitioner. Further information about these courses can be found on the Anna Freud website.
