Summary

Could you become a Shared Lives Carer and change the life of a vulnerable adult? This is an alternative to traditional types of care and support.

We are recruiting for Carers in Reading and the surrounding area who can offer support and companionship to help a vulnerable adult reach their potential and lead a fulfilling life.

Shared Lives Carers are ordinary people from the local community. You will be self-employed and paid for the support you provide.

Do you have a spare room or some time to care for an older person or vulnerable adult?

Could you offer:

FULL TIME CARE (Long Term Placement) – where the adult lives with you in your home and is treated like family.

Pay varies between £194.01 to £324.90 per week depending of the level of need of the individual you support. You would also receive Rent and contributions towards utilities and food provisions, approx. £156.31 per week.

OVERNIGHT/RESPITE CARE – where the adult stays in your home for a short period of time to give their permanent carers a break.

Pay varies between £56.16 to £65.05 (3.30pm – 9.30am) for the session. Or 24hr overnight Respite stay between £112.32 - £130.10 (you would not be required to stay awake during the night)

DAY SUPPORT – you would provide support from your home and support an adult to take part in social and leisure activities (such as shopping, going to the cinema, attending football matches or getting involved with the local community).

Pay varies between £28.08 - £32.53 per half session (3.5 hrs) or, between £56.16 - £65.05 for the session (4 – 6 hrs).
