Position Overview:
The Youth/English Service Pastor will play a key role in the growth and development of the youth and the congregation within the Malayali Pentecostal Church. The position is vital for the church's vision of expanding and spreading the gospel across a multicultural society. The pastor will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and guidance to the youth and members of the church while working collaboratively with the senior Pastor of the organisation, respecting their leadership and vision.
Responsibilities:
Youth Ministry Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program that addresses the spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young people within LPC
Plan and organise regular youth gatherings, including worship services, Bible studies, retreats, and other events to foster spiritual growth and community building among church youth.
Equip and empower youth leaders to effectively mentor and disciple young people
English Service Leadership:
Oversee and lead the congregation, creating an inclusive and engaging worship experience that resonates with the diverse cultural backgrounds of the United Kingdom.
Deliver impactful and culturally relevant sermons and messages that inspire spiritual growth and maturity among church members.
Collaborate with worship teams, musicians, and volunteers to ensure high-quality worship services that connect with the church congregation.
Pastoral Care:
Provide pastoral counseling, guidance, and support to youth and church members within the cultural context of the United Kingdom.
Foster an inclusive and empathetic environment that is in line with our values, and addressing the unique challenges and needs of a multicultural congregation in the United Kingdom..
Conduct pastoral visits, connect with individuals and families, and provide assistance during times of crisis or need.
Discipleship and Teaching:
Teach biblical principles, facilitate small group studies, and mentor individuals to encourage spiritual formation and maturity among members.
Create opportunities for discipleship and growth, such as leadership development programs, mentorship initiatives, and workshops that are relevant.
Nurture a love for the Word of God, equipping youth and church members to apply biblical principles to their lives within their cultural setting
Collaborative Teamwork:
Collaborate with church leadership and other pastors to align the youth and English services with the overall vision and mission of the church.
Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and church events, contributing to the overall growth and development of the church.
Work closely with other language-based ministries to foster unity, understanding, and integration among congregational members from diverse cultural backgrounds in the United Kingdom.
Qualifications:
A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Pentecostal theology.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire young people within the church.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with and engage a multicultural congregation in the United Kingdom.
Pastoral experience in youth ministry and/or English-speaking congregations.
A bachelor's degree in theology or a related field is mandatory.
Familiarity with the cultural nuances and diversity within the United Kingdom, and the ability to bridge the gap between Malayali and multicultural congregations, is advantageous.
Able to communicate in English and Malayalam
Has a family and is of a married status, as such has experience dealing with kids and family.
