About The Role

Support Worker - Ty Galan, Porth. £11.60 - £12.00 per hour dependent on experience. 40.25 hours per week.

Ty Galan is located in a quiet residential street a short walk from the town of Porth. A large semi detached terraced house with three bedrooms and a communal living space that is associated with a warm and welcoming family home, Ty Galan is a home like no other. The children at Ty Galan have access to full time education at one of Orbis' schools on the outskirts of Cardiff.

A typical day at Ty Galan will include:

- Providing high quality bespoke care to the people we support, including keeping accurate records.
- Ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met through a supportive and caring environment, and that it feels like home.
- Being a positive role model to the people we support and promoting their independence through a range of activities.
- General housekeeping duties, including meal preparation and elements of personal care.
- Having fun with the people we support!

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships;
- Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs;
- A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team;
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes;
- Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and occasional night shifts;

Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
