Summary

Do you have experience maintaining district heating equipment, like boilers, CHP, and chiller plants? Have you got City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or its equivalent degree? Are you in and around Stratford?

This site manages the supply of heat, chilling, and electricity to various consumers in and around the Olympic Park in Stratford. The Engineer will oversee the operation and maintenance of district heating scheme generation and distribution equipment, including large-scale boilers, CHP (Combined Heat and Power), and chiller plant. A full driving license is essential due to the site's size.

The Ideal Candidate should ideally possess previous experience in this field and relevant industry qualifications.

  • Role - Mechanical Shift Engineer
  • Rate of Pay - 21.06/hour
  • Location - 1 Waterden Road, Stratford, London, E15 2HD
  • Job Type - Contractual, initially 3 months with the possibility of extension
  • Shift - 12-hour day shifts (6 am - 6 pm), followed by four days off, and then four 12-hour night shifts (6 pm - 6 am)
  • Start - 6th May 2024 (once completing the documentation)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance as per contractual obligations.
  • Conduct repairs, reactive maintenance, and minor installations on plant equipment.
  • Attend to and troubleshoot faults while prioritising customer care.
  • Act as the engineer in charge during non-standard working hours.
  • Proactively monitor plant operations to ensure efficient utilisation.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and report diligently.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as required, including those outside normal working hours.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or its equivalent
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of large scale heating, chilling and electrical systems, both from an electrical/mechanical perspective.
  • Practical experience with IT-related monitoring systems is advantageous.
