Summary
The main responsibilities of the restaurant supervisor include:
- Implementing training programmes for new hires
- Onboarding new staff to help them learn their duties quickly and efficiently
- Ensuring all employees follow company policies and procedures at all times
- Overseeing opening and closing of the premises to ensure smooth transitions between shifts
- Ensuring all equipment is properly functioning throughout the day
- Keeping accurate records of daily sales, food inventory, employee labour costs and more through a computerised point-of-sale system (POS)
- Supervising and managing staff, planning work schedules and conducting performance reviews
ensuring good customer satisfaction and handling any complaints - Ensuring food and drinks served are of high quality and service is consistent
- Enforcing health safety practices, sanitation standards and safe food handling procedures
