We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Sheffield. You will be responsible for ensuring the works undertaken by the planned maintenance teams are commercially viable, and effectively support the contract management of all capital and reinvestment projects within a geographical
region.

The ideal candidate will have the ability and knowledge to estimate a variety of repairs and maintenance projects and ensure value for money across a high volume of orders. Whilst work is predominantly completed by in house teams, the ability to negotiate and build relationships with a supply chain is vital, both contractors and suppliers/merchants.

The role of Quantity Surveyor will include:

- Performing contract administration duties for a range of contracts for capital improvement programmes, adaptations, cyclical projects and adhoc works for external clients
- Undertaking pre contract works, which includes agreeing specifications with client teams, pricing works using schedule of rates packages and tracking orders
- Completing post contract works, which includes monitoring projects from a cost perspective, agreeing and capturing variations on site and submitting valuations and period billing for completed works
- Manage and contribute to special regional programmes and projects, particularly providing advice on potential costs
- Assist in the management of all supply chain consultancy and contractor appointments and/or contracts to ensure compliance with legislation and ensure high quality supply chain performance


Skills and experiences:

- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Degree/HNC/HND in Surveying or Construction, NEBOSH National Diploma or RICS/CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building), currently undertaking the qualification or prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group
- Recent experience in undertaking a similar role working in a commercially focused housing and/ or contracting business
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and current practice, including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation
- Practical experience of managing projects and strong project management skills
- Some experience of effectively managing contracts and contractor relationships, particularly all forms of JCT, TPC and ideally NEC
- Some experience of staff management and delivering services within budget
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- Role salary is £43,325 with an additional policy allowance of £4,159 per annum (rising to £45,605 with an additional policy allowance of £4,378 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
