OUTLINE OF POST AND PRINCIPAL CONTRACT TERMS Job Title Clinical Psychologist - Ground Up: Youth Staff Consultation and Training Service Salary £50,952 pro rata per annum Contract Permanent Hours / FTE 9 hours per week Location Brandon Centre, 26 Prince of Wales Road, London, NW5 3LG Reports to Clinical Director Accountability The post holder shall be accountable to the Board of Trustees of the Brandon Centre through the Clinical Director B. JOB SUMMARY Ground Up: Ground Up is an innovative, mental health consultation and training service. The service is funded by the London Borough of Camden to provide mental health-related training, consultation and staff support to third-sector organisations in Camden that work with children and young people. Ground Up aims to increase the mental health knowledge and skills of front-line workers and also to support their resilience and wellbeing in the face of working with vulnerable and complex young people. The post holder will provide clinical supervision, reflective practice and training to (mostly) youth workers and volunteers and also to their managers. The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing the service, supervising a 3rd-year trainee clinical psychologist, managing relationships with organisations and reporting to commissioners. C. BRANDON CENTRE OVERVIEW The principal objective of the Brandon Centre has always been to provide a professional, accessible and flexible service which responds to the psychological, wellbeing and social needs of young people under 25 years and their families. Services include: Individual psychological therapies for young people, using a range of evidence-based therapies Systemic Integrative Treatment for families Parent support programmes Therapeutic work in community settings (outreach) Brandon Centre is a friendly and welcoming place to work that prioritises and is passionate about the young people it supports. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ground Up: The post holder will be responsible for the following: 1) Delivering individual and group supervision to youth workers, volunteers and managers in Camden who work with and support young people 2) Have regular review sessions with the management of organisations about the support offer and broad themes that come up in sessions 3) Deliver reflective practice sessions to youth work teams 4) Manage relationships with all of the organisations who access Ground Up support. 5) Respond to and manage any safeguarding and clinical risk that arises from support sessions 6) Collect, analyse and report on data for commissioners and internal reports 7) Supervise trainee clinical psychologists and/or sessional psychologists who deliver the service 8) Ensure the safe and effective delivery of the service 9) Regularly review and develop the service offer 10) Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for any safeguarding concerns that arise from the service.
