Summary
Are you an experienced Estimator with quantity surveying experience looking for your next job opportunity?
A bespoke regional D&B Contractor have a requirement for an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join their business based in West Lancashire.
The company is a privately owned, bespoke building contractor providing professional architectural design, planning, and full construction services operating as principal contractor on complex, bespoke residential new build, extension, and refurbishment projects ranging from £150k - £1.5m.
The successful individual will be responsible for all day-to-day tasks associated with project estimating, project cost control, BOQ production, cost management and monitoring, cost planning, monthly cost reporting and client billing. Duties to include:
- Initial meeting with client and assessing project scope
- Producing accurate measures & take offs for projects
- Producing estimates & tenders for new projects
- Produce and update procurement schedules for all projects
- Prepare the required documents to issue to subcontractors to enable them to tender effectively packages
- Identify appropriate subcontractors for all aspects of works
- Prepare client cost reports and billing
- Manage and monitor variations and changes
- Assist in the financial appraisal of new opportunities
- Work closely with architects and other professionals
- Monitor costs and expenditure across the construction process
Qualifications
- Extensive experience of managing cost on projects within residential sector
- Skills in Estimating, Cost Control, BOQ, Cost Management, and Cost Forecasting and Planning
- Experienced in creating detailed cost reports
- Solid experience in the construction industry
- Experience of JCT & D&B contracts
- Educated as a minimum to HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent)
- Experience of Pre-Qualification and Tendering process for complex bespoke projects
The Person
The successful candidate will have previous experience working on bespoke residential projects ranging from one off bespoke new build properties, new build extensions, conversion of barns, internal refurbishment and re modelling of properties. You will have previous experience pricing up and overseeing the cost management on several projects at any one time.
