Summary
Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.
We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Arboriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Professional Tree Surgery, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness and Uniformed Public Services.
We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for the day to day operational management of our developing Horticulture Department and reporting to the Horticulture Curriculum Area Manager (CAM). Sector knowledge will be beneficial as well as any previous line management or project management experience. You will deliver a teaching caseload of up to 500 hours and will demonstrate excellence you can share in this area.
The successful candidate will support the CAM in developing the curriculum, staff and timetable to deliver the College strategy and vision, providing an excellent experience for students and an environment for staff and students to develop and flourish. The successful candidate will support the team to deliver to KPI's and agreed targets and deadlines.
Educated to degree level or above in a departmental relevant subject. Candidates should hold a teaching qualification. With excellent knowledge of Teaching, Learning and a key focus on quality and student experience. You will be able to organise effectively and be instrumental in developing processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. You will be a proven collaborator and able to champion staff, students and new ideas.
