Summary

You will work alongside the clinician(s) in the provision of patient care, which will include undertaking and recording the following tasks: Injections (Flu, Covid, B12, Pneumococcal) Childhood Immunisations Travel Immunisations Smears ECG Urinalysis Measurement of Blood Pressure, Temperature, and Pulse Peak Flow Measurements Dressings Screening, including New Patients and over 75 Checks Smoking Cessation You will also be expected to: Enable patients to access appropriate professionals in the practice team Act as a chaperone Assist with minor operations, secondary care, and other operative procedures Appreciate the principles of Healthy Living Provide relevant health promotion literature for patients, including ensuring all patient notice boards are kept up to date with promotional information on topical campaigns Make sure stocks of nurses' and doctors' materials, e.g. blood bottles, dressing, etc., are up to date and not expired Care and Programme Management Clearly present patients' points of view to others Ensure stock items are ordered and provided in GP and Treatment Rooms, including emergency equipment Follow infection control standards Contribute new ideas to improve patient care Clinical Practice Leadership Work effectively in a team Interact with patients and colleagues in a professional manner Assist in clinical audit Clinical Practice Development Maintain set standards of organisation in Practice This Job Description is a guideline only and will be amended from time to time.
