Summary

The ability to interview and examine a patient incorporating subjective & objective elements in order to identify problems to be treated and/or goals of treatment. The ability to analyse clinical findings by applying appropriate theory and principles and synthesising them with the assessment findings in order to justify the treatment approach. Provide clinical education and training to physiotherapy students to graduate level, and provide support, guidance and training to junior physiotherapists and assistants, assessing and evaluating competencies. Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff. Participate in and contribute to the appraisal process in line with service requirements, ensuring the Trust policy is followed and that regular monitoring and feedback is provided. Recognise and utilise individual skills and knowledge within the team. Be involved in service planning. Encourage and support staff to take responsibility for their own learning and development including the use of individual portfolios. Deputise for the Band 7 in their absence, taking responsibility for operational management of the team, allocating and organising the work of Band 5 and assistant staff to meet service priorities on a daily basis. Actively participate in clinical supervision. Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures, seeking clarification from their line manager if required. Prioritise work and manage time effectively, readjusting plans as situations change or arise. Act professionally at all times. Establish and maintain productive working relationships. Respiratory On call and Weekend cover on a rotational basis for Wards.
