Summary


Our fast paced and massively inspiring Critical Care Unit, is seeking committed, highly motivated and resourceful individuals who have an excellent administrative background and experience of working within a busy team environment to come and join us!

We are looking for individuals who are keen to support the nursing and medical teams to ensure the Unit delivers a high standard of care. This is an extremely busy department and we need candidates who can remain calm in the midst of chaos.

We have some fantastic Ward Clerks already - will you become one too?

Due to the nature of the post, excellent interpersonal/communication skills are essential. You must be able to demonstrate keyboard skills, including word and excel.

You will provide a professional front of house service for all staff and visitors to the department and will responsible for providing administrative support to the Critical Care Unit without close supervision. As you will be dealing with relatives that could be distressed and upset, we are looking for applicants with a calm demeanour who can demonstrate empathy and integrity. We have a 7 day rota as the reception is open from 8am-7pm monday to friday and 10am -6pm weekends and bank holidays (inc christmas day).

Knowledge of NHS systems would be an advantage but not essential.

Duties to include, but not be limited to:
• Collection and input of data from various sources, utilising hospital administration systems
• Efficient running of visitors booking in system
• Use initiative to resolve conflicts in a mutually agreeable way, alerting managers where necessary
• Maintaining databases
• Communicate to a wide range of staff and visitors adapting communication style to suit individual
• Participate and contribute to the service development of the Critical Care Unit
• Undertake adhoc duties when required to support the department
