We currently have an opportunity for a Community Centre Assistant to join our L&Q Foundation team.





The L&Q Foundation was set up ten years ago, bringing all our social and economic programmes under one departmental roof to maximise our impact on residents and communities. L&Q Foundation overseas programmes to support tenants and their families, offering employment and tenancy support services and developing aspirational and educational opportunities. The Community Centre Assistant is an integral part of the wider Community Asset London Team who look after 7 community centres across a varied geographical area. This role will focus on centres in North and East of London but will be required to provide cover for other centres ad hoc, and therefore access to a car is essential.



The role will provide operational support to the day-to-day running of the centres, with specific responsibility for the set-up, reporting repairs, cleanliness, and providing support during events, as well as health & safety and general building maintenance. There will also be a requirement to move and set up equipment, such as chairs, tables, and technical appliances.

The key responsibilities of the Community Centre Assistant include:

· Weekly travel to centres across the portfolio to complete and record H&S, compliance checks and building safety for the centre

· Setting up rooms as per booking requirements

· Setting up refreshments

· General cleaning and maintenance

· Providing excellent customer support to users

· Take responsibility for opening and closing the building, this can include evenings and weekends as required.



To be successful in the role you will be a strong team player with a passionate and positive attitude and be able to demonstrate:

· Strong customer service skills with experience delivering customer focused services in a public facing environment

· Good communication skills

· Previous caretaking experience or similar

· Ability to prioritise and organise own workload, with a flexible and dynamic approach to work

· Ability and willingness to travel
