Job Description

Summary
I’m looking for a compassionate and supportive personal assistant for my wonderful 21-year-old son. If you're passionate about helping others and enjoy activities like chess, badminton, tennis, and computer games, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

My happy son thrives on routine and enjoys pursuing his interests but can find crowds and noise overwhelming due to sensory overload. He is currently learning to drive, so assistance with the theory test would be greatly appreciated. Seeking someone who can provide support, encouragement, and companionship as he navigates his journey towards greater independence.


Candidate qualities:
• Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
• Employer does smoke but not in the house or around her children
• Reliable with good timekeeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest and cheerful
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Must be comfortable with pets. Family have a medium sized friendly dog.
• Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
• Happy to work in a smoking environment

Employee Duties:
• Accompanying my son to his favourite activities, ensuring he feels comfortable and supported.
• Providing guidance and assistance studying for the driving theory test
• Engaging in meaningful conversations and activities that foster independence and personal growth.
• Flexibility to adapt to my son’s needs and preferences.

Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
