Summary

Care Assistant Role: Alcedo Care

Pay Rates starting from £14.00 per hour PLUS Pension Plus Holiday Pay

Our complex care packages give you the opportunity to work with children and adults both in their own homes and out in community. Supporting them with their daily needs and engaging in both physical and educational enrichment activities tailored to each client.

Your shift will be spent working alongside you colleagues typically on a 2-1 or 3-1 carer to client ratio meaning you will always have support on hand. Shift patterns and your availability can be discussed in your initial conversation. This role will involve weekend working on a weekend on weekend off basis.

At Alcedo Care we work with clients with varying levels of care needs some of which may include:

Catheter and stoma care

Tracheostomy care

Peg feeding

Challenging behaviour

Severe autism or learning difficulties.

Cerebral palsy

Multiple sclerosis

Advanced dementia

Palliative care

Mental health support

Previous experience in care is desirable but not always necessary we provide a full 3-day training programme to all successful candidates.

Responsibilities of the role:

- To provide quality care and support to all clients in their own homes.

- Follow care plans and procedures correctly.

- Maintain client confidentiality, privacy and dignity at all times.

- Work competently alone and within a team

- Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have access to your own car.

- Assist clients with daily needs including personal care and toileting.

- Support with medications and meal preparation.

- Use hoists and stand aids effectively following correct policies and procedures.

- Support clients with attending appointments and social outings.

- Have strong communication skills and be able to build relationships with clients.

- Be comfortable working with challenging behaviour and young children.

- Be available to work alternate weekends and evenings when required.
