The role
Action Together are recruiting a Community Development Worker to work in our Oldham Locality. The role involves working with local people and communities to develop and deliver place-based approaches, to identify, develop, and support thematic work that reaches across the borough while maximising opportunities to create positive social change and promote social justice.

The ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of communities to change the places they live and the things they care about and wants to help them achieve this.

A skilled collaborator understanding that everyone has something to give and having the skills and abilities to help them individually and collectively to make a positive change in their neighbourhood.

Someone who can build relationships and facilitate forums where diverse groups can share experiences and insight.

A practical ‘doer’ able to support people to develop their ideas and provide organisational development support that helps them sustain their ideas.

Salary: £29,777- £33,945 per annum (NJC Scale Grade 6 SP19 to SO1 SP25)

Hours: 36 per week (Monday to Friday, occasional evening and weekend work may be required)

Length of contract: 12-month Fixed term until

Location: Oldham Locality
