A fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our Legal Operations Team which provides high quality business support to Reading Borough Council’s Legal Service.

The Legal Service in Reading provide excellent in-house provision to our teams across the Council, and through our Joint Legal Shared Service we provide councils across Berkshire with a legal service. The Joint Legal Service is one of the oldest shared service.

About the role



Our team is responsible for providing comprehensive administration support to the council’s legal service. This role will provide support and cover a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to:



Processing financial transactions
Supporting new staff inductions
Dealing with IT system queries
Assist with daily administrative tasks and other ad hoc requests
Ensure efficient office operations
Handle phone calls and inquiries
Manage post, emails, letters, and other communications
Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate internal communications within the organisation
Maintain accurate records, both physical and digital
Organise and arrange documents and files.
Generate reports
Schedule and organise meetings.
Prepare agendas and take minutes.

About you



You will have a good level of general qualification including English and Maths, have an excellent working knowledge of MS office 365 and its tools.



You will be expected to respond to a wide and varied workload and be able to manage the expectations of both clients and colleagues while promoting and providing excellent customer service.



You will also need to demonstrate personal resilience to effectively manage the demands of the role.
