Summary

Due to the continued success of the Northumberland Recovery College, we are recruiting a new Peer Support Worker to join our team. As a Peer Support Worker, you must have lived experience of your own personal mental ill-health, strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting people in their recovery. Previous work experience is not essential.
The Northumberland Recovery College is a safe space that provides courses, activities and drop-ins to adults wishing to improve their mental health and wellbeing. More information about our service can be found at www.northumberlandrecoverycollege.co.uk
As a Peer Support Worker, you will promote the college and introduce/support new students to take part in activities as well as support the running of online and face-to-face groups as needed. You will also deliver peer-led courses and activities.
Please note, working hours include weekdays, weekends and evenings. You will be agile working including working from various community hubs in Northumberland with some home working.
About you:
We would love to hear from you, if you possess the following:
• Lived experience of your own personal mental ill-health
• Awareness of mental health issues and how they may impact individuals, gained through your lived experience
• Experience of demonstrating empathy
• Very good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
• Flexibility in working hours, as this role covers weekdays, weekends and evenings
