It starts with you. Our Brentwood Pathology Hub currently have an opportunity for a Senior Biomedical Scientist, Blood Transfusion Lead. You will bring knowledge and understanding of laboratory quality management systems and relevant regulatory body accreditation standards. Hold the relevant qualification and registration registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Desirable qualifications include MSc, Equivalent academic achievement ratified by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) OR Equivalent Level 7 Post Graduate Certification or Diploma. You'll have evidence of continuing professional development and proficiency in accordance with HCPC guidelines and Significant post registration experience in blood transfusion. As our Blood Transfusion lead you will: Work with clinical teams across Brentwood, Cambridge and Ipswich Hospitals to develop blood transfusion services, ensure they meet user requirements, ensure quality standards are met and ensure patient safety is maintained Ensure incidents and errors are reported to relevant bodies and action plans are enacted to prevent recurrence and recorded on our quality management systems Work with colleagues across all other Nuffield Health Hospital sites to ensure standardised and efficient practices that meet and can evidence relevant quality standards are embedded in the department Ensure full traceability is maintained for all blood products issued Be a source of expertise in terms of transfusion specialist knowledge Maintain knowledge and competence across haematology, blood transfusion and biochemistry in order to be able to support the out-of-hours service in case of emergency need.
