Summary

This role is part of a high performing team, supporting the continued growth of the headquarters of the Bacardi UK supply centre at Poniel. The Control Room Operator will play a leading role within the team to ensure all brown spirit is processed for current demands and NMS filled for the future growths across the whisky portfolio, including:
Stock management of all cask types with focus on fit for filling status.
Warehouse management of all cask stocks – palletized and racked warehousing
Engagement and ownership of process safety within the bulk operational area
Exposure to control system automation and quality management systems in the form of PCS7, DRAMS and EMCS
Promote and cascade the philosophy of Safety-First ensuring conformance to Company Vision and Values
Active participation in process and continuous improvements across all functional aspects of department.

Promote safety, organisation and cleanliness (5’s) around the site and encourage others to always do their best at work.
Maintain behaviour at all times in compliance with HSE requirements.
Participate in effective and accurate data capture and operation of the whisky inventory system.
Demonstrate a commitment to the Company’s quality standards including working in problem solving groups and participating in Total Quality processes as necessary.
Comply with Customs and Excise requirements and legislation, ensure that any discrepancies are reported immediately.
Understand and adhere to delivery schedules, warehousing and blend centre programmes.
Carry out filling and disgorging of bulk spirit into/from casks
Operate and maintain designated machinery e.g. FLT’s, attachments, scanners, strapping machine etc.
Ensure all associated plant equipment is functioning as required and report any malfunctions.
Ensure that proper housekeeping standards and cleaning of work environment is adhered to.
Maintain complete flexibility of operations across Warehousing and Blending activities.
Operate workstations and carry out the various defined tasks as appropriate.
Actively pursue the maximisation of production output in accordance with agreed efficiencies
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the site and activities, suggesting alterations as appropriate
Actively participate in company training and development initiatives and communication briefings as appropriate.
Processing and supplying spirit to production lines in accordance with quality specifications and production plan
Correctly account for all spirit stocks
Assist in the ongoing training and development of all team members and carry out any reasonable request that will further improve the performance of the team.
Use of control systems and quality management systems on site (Drams, PCS7, Flowlog and EMCS)
Support other areas and sites when business dictates. Flexibility to change shifts or do extra hours, where required.
Cover key operator / process lead for key planning meetings during holidays and periods of absence. i.e. DDS meetings, Shift Changeover, Maintenance Meeting, Weekly bulk planning meeting.
Support key operator to cover Shift Lead for basic supervisory tasks during holidays and periods of absence.
Participate in on-site incident investigations including data collection and taking of statements from involved parties.
