Creative Support is looking for warm, reliable and motivated Support Workers to join our friendly staff team at our supported living services in Scunthorpe.
As a Support Worker, you will need to be able to recognise nonverbal forms of communication and be passionate about encouraging residents to engage in a wide range of exciting activities! Our residents love participating in arts and crafts, going out for a drive, attending parties and meals out, socialising, and meeting up with family members.
Your role will include:
- Providing personal care, administering medication and helping with other domestic tasks such as shopping and medical appointments
- Encouraging service users to engage in a range of exciting social activities both within and outside their homes
- Developing warm and trusting relationships with service users and their families, enabling them to enjoy their time at the service to the fullest
- Full time or part time hours to be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service over 7 days
We are looking for staff with the right values who want to enable vulnerable people to reach their full potential and live a happy life.
What our current staff have to say about the service:
‘I love the community this role generates- the staff and service users are fantastic and you build good connections with family members too. There is so much variety, with always something different to do.’
Previous experience is not needed with full training provided, as well as the opportunity for further professional development. We provide full, accredited training courses in areas such as communication approaches and more. For further career development, we offer higher qualifications through our in-house training department.
Successful candidates would have the opportunity to access the Wheels to Work Scheme available through Proud to Care. This offers above national average of mileage used during working time.
Creative Support is a passionate, inclusive, and anti-racist organisation. We are a Stonewall Diversity Champion, Disability Confident Employer who have recently received Investors in People Gold award. We actively encourage applications from candidates from all backgrounds and cultures
We can only accept fully completed applications from candidates who are located in and eligible to work within the UK, we do not accept CV’s as a form of application – This post will not be open to Sponsorship under the UKVI scheme
We will be interviewing for this role as suitable applications are received and may close this role before the closing date upon a successful candidate being appointed.
