Summary

We are recruiting 2 Breakfast Club Assistants at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 5 hours per week. That’s 1 hour daily, Monday to Friday during term time only (38 weeks a year).
Contract Type: Permanent/Part Time
Location: Ty Sign Primary School Risca

This important service ensures the provision of a healthy, nutritious breakfast in a familiar and safe environment for young minds to get the best out of their school day. Working alongside colleagues to support and guide children, you will also supervise others in the workplace ensuring our award-winning catering service staff are adhering to guidelines set out to guarantee high performance standards.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the supervision and guidance of the Breakfast Club pupils alongside following our policies ensuring that all food safety regulations are adhered to. You must be an effective communicator as you will not only be liaising with the pupils but parents and school staff alike.

A Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene in Catering would be ideal but not essential as full training on food safety awareness alongside other relevant courses will be provided.

For the role, we ask that you have:

1. Qualified as above or, open to or working towards completing a qualification within 3 months of appointment
2. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently answer questions on your area of responsibility and its impact on others
3. Able to work at various sites throughout the Borough, to meet the needs of the service.
