Summary

Are you passionate about supporting people to access secure accommodation, and prevent homelessness?

At Connection Support, our team of over 200 staff members and 150 volunteers work alongside people to overcome life’s challenges, with the goals of solving homelessness and achieving independence.

We do this through our values of empowerment, collaboration, compassion and taking a personalised approach in all aspects of our work. Our projects are focussed on homelessness and housing, mental health, family support, young peoples’ support, and refugee resettlement.

We are currently recruiting a Case Worker to join our Step Down team in Headington. which supports people with short-term supported housing following a discharge from hospital.

About the role.

Step Down provides a support service for people who are ready to be discharged from hospital but lack suitable accommodation to continue their recovery.
The clients spend up to 8 weeks in one of our three properties in Headington.

During their stay, the amazing team of case workers empower, encourage, and connect people to appropriate services, such as housing, outreach, benefits, well-being, activities, and support networks.

The team work closely together, supporting each other and working together to achieve outcomes that enable clients to move on safely.

This post is fixed term until May 31st, 2025, working full or part time between 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Salary £24,397 - £26,649 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.

Due to the nature of this role, a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential.

The closing date is Friday 24th May. Interviews will be held on Friday 31st May.

About you.

You must be passionate about supporting and empowering people to access services that will enable them to move on safely. You also believe in encouraging independence, control and dignity and believe that, with the right support, people can be empowered to achieve their goals.

You should have lived or professional experience in homelessness, mental health, housing and/or benefits processes. (You might feel that you have transferable skills from a different role, we are open to discussing this with you). You have no problem networking with others, building relationships with external agencies and researching local options to ensure your guest receives the best support available to them.
