Due to continued success and expansion within our Energy Division, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Renewable Electrical Designer to join our team. The candidate will have experience within energy sector projects such as Solar PV Farms, Battery Storage, Hydro Power, Energy Centres and CHPs.

About the Role
• Developing Low Carbon solutions and cost reduction strategies for clients
• Designing automated energy metering and monitoring systems
• Keeping up to date with changes in the energy and environmental regulatory framework
• Managing third party design teams
• To maintain a good, professional working relationship with customers, keeping them updated throughout the duration of the project.
• Designing energy projects; solar pv, battery, smart grids, hybrid systems
• Undertake initial yield assessment of potential sites.
• Experience utilising PV Sol and PV Syst design software in the production of commercial solar designs and ability to interrogate design software outputs
• Carry out site visits to determine electrical points of connection, required equipment, technical solutions and pricing for projects.
• Understand scope of work, specifications, programmes and cost control of tender documents
• Understanding contract, contract conditions and obligations
• Understanding of current G99 & G100 Regulations, Electrical Regulations, Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative requirements
• Assist in preparation of quotations

Key Skills & Experience
• Minimum 5 years experience within the energy sector
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering
• Experience with engineering design software; Amtech, PVsol, PVSyst, Autocad
• Experience in energy sector projects such as Solar PV farms, battery storage, Energy Centres, Private wire projects, City & Guild 2372/2399 or NICEIC Solar PV would be preferred but not essential).
• Proven track record of low carbon design solutions

The role will be based at our Head Office in Stirling Mon-Thur 8-5pm and Friday 8-3.30pm. FES Support Services offer a fantastic package which includes competitive salaries and benefits including 35 days holiday per year, a group pension plan, private healthcare and other fantastic benefits.
