Summary


An exciting substantive opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 or established Band 7 physiotherapist to join the ACCU Physiotherapy team. The team offers a service across the 54 bedded ACCU with a variety of major trauma, surgery, medicine, neurotrauma, and complex polytrauma cases. The post offers rotational experience across the 4E Level 3 ACCU, 4F Level 2 ACCU and 3F Surgical HDU. The post offers opportunities to develop our Rehabilitation after Critical Illness (RaCl) service, and the RLH ICU Follow-up clinic with opportunities to branch into our Musculoskeletal outpatients team.

The post holder will support the Clinical Lead with day to day running of the team, oversight of their ACCU pod and governance for their area. The post holder will be an integral part of the ACCU MDT, supporting weekly complex patient MDM, tracheostomy ward rounds, and participate in ICU ward rounds. The team has a strong ethos for clinical and team education and development, innovation, and research opportunities.

The successful applicant will have a broad range of acute and critical care experience, be a motivated team player, and deliver high quality care within the framework of a multi-disciplinary team.

To assist in coordinating and developing the physiotherapy service in the Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU) at the Royal London Hospital. The post holder will play a major and specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment and clinical management of patients across the ACCUs involving major trauma/neurosciences, specialist medicine and surgery specialities, determining the clinical diagnosis, functional deficits and delivering current physiotherapy treatments. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified staff in the ACCU physiotherapy team.
