Summary

We are looking for a Works Assistant to join the Direct Labour team (DLO) in the Estates department. Working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, you will be delivering an excellent maintenance service direct to our customers.

In this role, you will:
• Be responsible for basic reactive repairs to the components and equipment (Internal & external) of the building fabric, civils and structural elements.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
• Assist other staff within the department on reactive and planned maintenance.
• Act as 1st response to emergency situations to assist in roof leaks and basic repairs, clearing and cleaning areas that are subject to escape of water and flooding.
• Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Assist with managing critical and essential material stock levels.
• Develop good working relationships with key customers to continually improve our service.

We’d like to hear from you if you:
• Are experienced in working within a reactive maintenance environment.
• Experienced in carrying out basic fabric, civils and structural repairs in a professional/commercial environment.
• Have a good understanding of job specific General Health and Safety in the workplace including risk assessments and method statements.
• Can work well as part of a team and independently.
• Can communicate and deliver excellent customer service.
