Summary

As a leading teaching, training, and research trust, we have close links to Oxford and Oxford Brookes, Buckinghamshire, Reading and Bath universities. We are part of the Oxford Academic Health Science Centre, working closely with our university colleagues to translate their findings into clinical care as quickly as possible, enabling people using our services to benefit from the latest advances in healthcare. The funding will cover training fees, salary and a significant contribution towards personal analysis and travel. Successful applicants will already need to be on an ACP recognised pre-clinical training course or have been accepted for the ACP recognised Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy clinical training. Applicants, as a minimum, will need to have completed the first year of the pre-clinical training recognised by the Association of Child Psychotherapists. This assumes they will already be working with children and young people in a professional capacity and that they have an interest in and some understanding of psychoanalytical thinking. Those undertaking or having already successfully completed an ACP approved pre-clinical training, will also be eligible to apply and may be able to step on in Year 2 and hence complete the training in 5 years. Pre-clinical courses are offered in the following locations: Belfast Perinatal, child, adolescent and family work: a psychoanalytic observational approach (M7N)Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation TrustUniversity of Essexgertiedoonan@ntlworld.com07879 885 881 Birmingham Perinatal, child, adolescent and family work: a psychoanalytic observational approach (M7B)Birmingham Trust for Psychoanalytic PsychotherapyTavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust /University of Essexinfo@btpp.co.uk0121 7530413 Bristol Perinatal, child, adolescent and family work: a psychoanalytic observational approach (M7K)Avon & Wiltshire Partnership NHS TrustTavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust /University of Essextessa.weir-jeffery2@nhs.net0117 919 0330 Glasgow Psychoanalytic Observation and Reflective Practice: Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People (TWCYP)Human Development ScotlandUniversity of Strathclydeinfo@hds.scot0141 331 2419 Leeds Psychoanalytic Observational StudiesNorthern School of Child and Adolescent PsychotherapyUniversity of Leedsnscap.lypft@nhs.net0113 855 8750 London Early Child Development and Clinical ApplicationsAnna Freud CentreUniversity College Londonecdca@annafreud.org020 77942313 Psychodynamics of Human DevelopmentBritish Psychotherapy FoundationBirkbeck, University of LondonMSCPA@bpf-psychotherapy.org.uk0208 438 2411 Perinatal, child, adolescent and family work: a psychoanalytic observational approach (M7)Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation TrustUniversity of Essextraining@tavi-port.ac.uk0208 938 2214
