Summary

A Vacancy at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.


An exciting new post has been created to provide advanced hand therapy assessment and treatment for patients referred from the Emergency department and virtual fracture clinic.

This is a new service and requires a motivated dynamic therapist. With the support of the hand therapy lead the successful candidate will set up, run appraise this new service.

You will need to build good working relationships with the emergency department and the team in virtual fracture clinic. Triage patients, providing timely assessment and referring on to other services or further investigations if required. As well as the initial assessment you will provide advance hand therapy to enable patients to reach their full potential following their hand injury.





You will be based at the Homerton hospital, the post may also require some working virtually.

Main duties:

Manage the referrals from the emergency department and VFC. - Triage, assess patients, request appropriate investigations, referring on to other professionals when required-eg: hand consultants, GP

Provide advanced treatment for a wide variety of traumatic and acquired hand conditions.

Advanced skills in x-ray analysis and clinical interpretation to plan and deliver advanced hand therapy.
