Summary

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is seeking to appoint a Senior Administrator to fulfil the role of Executive Assistant to the Dean for a period of 24 months.
This role will work closely with and provide direct administrative support to the Dean, the most senior role in the Faculty. This will include active diary management and event scheduling, using judgment to manage and prioritise their schedule, supporting key leadership and governance meetings, and supporting the Dean on key projects and initiatives. This role also provides support to the Associate Director of Faculty Operations.
As Executive Assistant you will provide a high quality, comprehensive and responsive administrative support. You will work closely with members of the Faculty leadership team, other members of professional services in the Faculty, and colleagues across the University. The role will provide opportunities for you to develop a working knowledge of the core activities of the Faculty which will enable you to provide information, advice and guidance to colleagues. You will be a highly effective communicator who can work effectively on their own initiative, problem solving in a challenging, busy and confidential work environment. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and co-ordinate a range of activities effectively will be key to being successful in this role.
The role has become available because the substantive role-holder has taken on a secondment in a more senior role in the University - a sign of both the opportunity to develop in this role and the Faculty's commitment to professional development.
