Secretary to the College Management Team

35 hours per week, Monday - Friday

£27,853 - £28,455/ £15.26 - £15.59 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

UHI Orkney is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post. The postholder will provide administrative support to the Principal and College Management Team, and an efficient clerking service to the College Management Team, cross-college committees, and the College Stakeholder Group, along with a variety of administrative duties.

The postholder will also be required to provide efficient administrative support relating to records management, and for the HR and recruitment service for UHI Orkney. This includes maintaining staff records, the processing of timesheets and assisting in the recruitment process. It is therefore essential that the successful applicant shows an appreciation and awareness of the importance of accuracy and confidentiality.

Applicants must be educated to SCQF level 6/7 (e.g. SVQ3 or HNC) in an administration related subject or, where this is not held, have a minimum of 3 years’ previous relevant experience.

This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
