This opening assignment is for up to 12 months

Basic DBS required for this role

A Business Analyst is required to understand and analyse user and business needs. Responsible for all business analysis deliverables on assigned projects, from scoping and requirements elicitation through to operating model definition and implementation within the business.

Key responsibilities:

Analyse business processes and systems to identify improvements.
Work with stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback on services, products, or systems.
Use data modelling practices to analyse findings and create data-driven recommendations for operational and strategic improvements.
Communicate with internal teams to understand the needs of departments and the organisation.
Create detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions.
Define business requirements and report them back to stakeholders.
Typical assignments may include:
Supporting Business Partners in identifying business needs and assessing requests for change received from Council Teams, Services and Directorates.
Leading Discovery activities to investigate business problems or opportunities.
Producing high-quality outputs that express the identified needs and recommended solutions.
Leading multi-disciplined teams in refining and delivering against identified requirements.
Measuring and evaluating risks and benefits.

Qualifications:

A relevant recognised Business Analysis qualification is desirable.



Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.



Skills & Abilities:

Ability to investigate problems and analyse options for new and existing services and provide recommendations to solutions. Work with stakeholders to identify objectives, opportunities and potential benefits available.
Able to analyse current services and processes and identify and implement opportunities to optimise these. Help to evaluate and establish requirements using relevant techniques such as gap analysis.
An effective communicator.
Strong organisational skills.
Able to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.
Ability to help the team to decide the best approach.
Able to help teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and work to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), print and scope.
Ability to apply a digital understanding to work. Able to identify and implement solutions for assisted digital.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
